At nine months pregnant, I have never been so confident in my body and self. Although I have packed on some extra pounds for my extra big baby, an extra big ego surprisingly also followed. At 38 weeks, I decided to bare it all, to capture what I think is the most beautiful I will ever look. Most of my girlfriends have had photos done at about there seventh month when the belly isn't so big, their faces aren't plump, and they still have their slender build. I on the other hand waited until the ninth month. I suppose my fascination with how big my stomach is, how the baby is responding to the sound of my voice, father's touch and squirming excitedly at the taste of chocolate, has kept me thinking how unreal this very real experience is and has been. I want to remember how fortunate I am to be carrying a healthy happy baby and there is no better way then an artsy portrait of my ever so large belly. I highly recomend every mother to be to do the same. Whether you feel like a million bucks or merely a dollar, the mothers who did not do it really regret it, and the mothers who have done it have never complained about the outcome of the photos. Although a good photographer can be pricey, and buying the prints can add up, it is an investment you won't regret and an art piece that is an original priceless.
